When the rights of any one person are violated, the rights of all of us are in jeopardy…that will quickly come back to haunt us.
Deportation has been compared to the courts to banishment, exile. It's an extremely serious consequence that the immigrant judge has to decide.
Any comprehensive immigration reform policy has to be one in which immigrants are treated fairly, humanely, and have access to our legal system.
"We undertook the Pilgrimage for Immigration Reform because the current situation is hurting our community on a local and national level."
It is time to restore fairness to a group of people being denied basic rights simply because they were born on a different patch of the Earth.
